Welcome to the gallery. I'm the sole curator here โ no glass cases, no velvet rope, just history unpacked and argued with in public.
I read old books about old power, and I can't stop noticing how little the shape of things has changed. A pontifex maximus and a hedge fund manager are closer cousins than either would care to admit. The collection is organized in three wings:
- Crowns โ antiquity through empire: raw power, and the men (and gods) who convinced everyone else to kneel.
- Capital โ medieval to modern: trade routes, ledgers, and the slow replacement of the sword with the balance sheet.
- Collapse โ what's left after: revolution, ruin, and the rubble every new era gets built from.

Curator's Note
Every entry here starts as a book, read slowly and argued with in the margins โ religion, politics, architecture, geography, whatever the book happens to drag in with it. I'm not a historian by trade, just someone who thinks the ancient world explains the news better than the news does.
